Contentious Strategic Regional Land Use Policy Unveiled in Sydney

Planning Minister, Brad Hazzard, Energy and Resources Minister, Chris Hartcher, Primary Industries Minister, Katrina Hodgkinson, and Deputy Premier, Andrew Stoner, stood shoulder-to-shoulder at a press conference in Sydney to release their Strategic Regional Land Use Policy. The united front sought to convince critics that the O’Farrell government has found the formula to move forward in a way that allows agriculture to co-exist with mining and planned coal seam gas activities. Farmers, vignerons, thoroughbred breeders and mining companies were briefed privately by the government before the contentious Final policy was released publicly.
