Bangaloreans Demand an Active Role in City Planning

Citizen groups are demanding the right to have a role in the decision-making process regarding urban planning and monitoring. Eshanya Bengalurina Kalyana Sanghagala Okkuta organised ‘Corruption-free Governance in Bengaluru and The Role of Civic Society’ on Saturday. Kathyayini Chamaraj of CIVIC drew attention to the paradox that on the one hand, the country is debating laws to contain corruption, but citizens are being disempowered.
