In 2008 the Victorian Government committed $4.88 million to fund the expansion of the existing Vicmap Position-GPSnet infrastructure by building an estimated 57 Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS), boosting the network to over 100. The project was completed five months ahead of schedule and provides a state-wide networked real-time high accuracy positioning service.
