1Spatial is launching the FME Workspace Audit and Optimisation service at the FME World Tour – where delegates will find out what’s new in the latest FME 2015 product release and cover topics such as data validation and producing charts, PDF and Excel Reports – at events in Perth on April 29 and Sydney on May 1. Following strong interest from current and potential FME users in the Northern Territory, 1Spatial is also staging an event in Darwin on 3rd June which is free to register here.
“FME is a powerful tool for automating spatial and non-spatial data workflows,” said Martin Gregory, General Manager for 1Spatial Asia Pacific. “However, users often inherit poorly documented FME Workspaces and there is a tendency not to fix what isn’t perceived to be broken. Over time, workflows can fall behind best practice and become more time-consuming to maintain, perform sub-optimally, or no longer achieve the required levels of output data quality.”
Safe Software’s FME empowers users to transform data, with support for 325+ spatial and non-spatial formats, so it can be used and shared. 1Spatial, a Value Added Reseller of FME and the region’s only Platinum Partner of Safe Software, provides consulting services and training by Safe Certified Professionals and Trainers.
The new free audit service, provided remotely by 1Spatial’s Certified FME Professionals, will deliver a best practice review of a user’s FME Workspace including identification of potential problems and proposed areas for improvement. The free Audit report produced will include recommended optimisations and the expected benefits to the organisation of implementing them. 1Spatial will also offer a paid, remotely delivered FME Workspace Optimisation consulting service to implement the recommendations of the report for the customer.
“FME’s capabilities are continually expanding and most organisations could easily increase the benefits they are receiving,” said Gregory. “By auditing and optimising an FME Workspace we can typically reduce the number of data transformers being used, making them easier to manage and improving processing performance. In addition, multiple workflows can often be combined to create more efficient end-to-end data production processes.”
