1Spatial Appoints Two Spatial Data Consultants

Adrian has 15 years’ international experience delivering consultancy services for geographic information systems (GIS) and has relocated from 1Spatial’s Cambridge, UK headquarters to Sydney. He is responsible for providing technical expertise throughout FME solution implementation, from presales consulting through to delivery and ongoing support.

Safe Software’s FME empowers users to transform spatial data, with support for 325+ spatial and non-spatial formats, so it can be used and shared. 1Spatial, a Value Added Reseller of FME and the region’s only Platinum Partner of Safe Software, provides consulting services and training by Safe Certified Professionals and Trainers.

Adrian is both an FME Certified Professional and FME Certified Trainer. His key goal in his new position is to share the experience he has gained implementing FME-based GIS solutions in Europe with customers in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. This includes delivering Safe Certified FME training courses which will also soon be available locally as interactive online courses covering the same content.

“We are delighted to welcome Adrian to the 1Spatial team in Australia. He will enhance our local FME solution team with international solution design and project delivery experience,” said Martin Gregory, General Manager for 1Spatial Asia Pacific. “Adding another Safe Certified Professional demonstrates our commitment to supporting and growing our core business around FME solutions.”

Prior to relocating to Australia, Adrian was a Senior Consultant with 1Spatial in the UK. He previously worked for nine years as a Senior Consultant for STAR-APIC, which 1Spatial purchased in June 2013, working in both GIS application development and software training before becoming an FME product specialist. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Geographical Information Systems from the University of Greenwich, London.

1Spatial’s newest consultant, Priyantha Pallegama, adds depth and new talent to the local FME solution team. His responsibilities include providing technical expertise to support customers in their effective use of the FME product and the delivery of consulting projects.

Priyantha was previously a GIS Project Team member at the Canberra Institute of Technology, earning an Advanced Diploma in Spatial Information Systems there. He was also a Research Assistant at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, where he holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing.
