European LiDAR Mapping Forum 2014 Programme Posted

“ELMF is a technical conference & exhibition focused on data acquisition, fusion, processing and point clouds for airborne, terrestrial and underwater LiDAR used to support transport, urban modelling, coastal zone mapping, utility asset management and more,” said Lisa Murray, Event Director. “Presentations address key issues that LiDAR professionals need to keep pace in an ever-changing landscape of tools and operational needs.”

The 2014 European LiDAR Mapping Forum Advisory Board vetted all the abstracts to arrive at the varied, high-quality and topical programme. “The programme contains critical, actionable information for anyone involved in capturing and actualizing LiDAR for various applications from forestry to flood plain mapping to railway infrastructure and more,” said Ms. Murray. “The programme also includes several presentations on Unmanned Aerial Systems, as well as data fusion and data management sessions.”

“The more than 30 presenters on the programme are true experts in their respective fields,” said Ms. Murray. “As changes in the marketplace are taking place daily, we look forward to the exchange of best practices and learning about new techniques among speakers, attendees and exhibitors.” She added that many of the solutions discussed during the programme will be on display in the exhibit hall, giving attendees the opportunity to further explore the many available options for data capture, processing and delivery.

“We are also very excited about the Keynotes our programme manager Linda McLaughlin has secured to date,” said Ms. Murray. Valentijn de Leeuw, Vice President, ARC Advisory Group presentation is entitled “State of the Market: 3D Measurement.” Peter van Blyenburgh, President, Unmanned Vehicle Systems (UVS) International keynote is “RPAS : The Current Status Regarding Civil Operations.”

Early-bird registration ends 31 October. “We encourage interested parties to register early to save as much as €200,” said Ms. Murray. Registration is available online here.

Free Event Features

In addition, European LiDAR Mapping Forum has a free registration option which includes the following:

  • International Exhibition of solutions providers
  • Live Data Capture Demonstrations
  • Technical Workshops
  • Mobile Mapping Vehicles
  • Networking Events

“The one paid networking event (cost €68), A Night at the Nemo, is sure to be a fun-filled event at Amsterdam’s science museum, just a short walk from the PTA,” said Ms. Murray. At the cocktail and dinner buffet, guest will be able to mingle among the museum’s exhibits while making valuable connections with colleagues and market leaders.

“The various elements of ELMF work together to ensure that the professionals who come to ELMF leave with the expert education, strategic connections and cutting-edge hardware and software solutions they need,” said Ms. Murray.

Co-location with SPAR Europe

ELMF will take place with SPAR Europe, providing geospatial professionals access to the full spectrum of data capture, processing and delivery education at one time. SPAR Europe is a conference & exhibition focused on end-to-end business and technology considerations for 3D measurement and imaging for industrial facilities; building, architecture and construction; forensic and security. One conference fee provides access to both conference programmes.
