Virtual Surveyor is a solution to handle large volumes of data that come with UAV TrueOrthophotos and elevation models by bringing them together in a virtual environment. Virtual Surveyor simulates the real world and includes a toolset for surveyors to maintain the workflow they generally apply.
Tom Op ‘t Eyndt, manager of GeoID says: “Virtual Surveyor is the last building stone surveyors need to apply unmanned aerial systems in an operational context. Surveyors who deploy unmanned systems too often become disappointed when their photogrammetric products are finished. Handling gigabytes of raster data requires a totally different approach than handling Megabytes of points and lines that come out of a traditional survey.”
Virtual Surveyor allows the surveyor to apply its survey skills by selecting points and breaklines which adequately describe the topography. By using Virtual Surveyor, surveying is carried out from behind the computer in a virtual environment. Measuring volumes was never easier. Simply by delineating a polygon around the stock pile and a single mouse click the volume of an entire terrain object is calculated.
Virtual Surveyor 2.2 comes with a set of new features:
