Directions Magazine India Announces Survey India 2014 with NSDI as Government Partner

Survey India 2014 is the first national conference in India focused on surveying techniques and tools. The surveying profession is vitally important in supporting the rapid infrastructure expansion within India today. Surveying continues to enhance the ability to locate and measure features on the Earth’s surface with increased speed and accuracy. Equipment such as terrestrial laser scanners, mobile mapping tools and airborne LiDAR present an opportunity to precisely map India’s resources and infrastructure with faster and more effective solutions.

Survey India 2014 will act as a forum to bring together stakeholders of the surveying and mapping community. Topographical surveying has been an important function for capturing geospatial data for infrastructure and governance-related project and this conference will offer a unique opportunity to bring together users and solution providers.

National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) is supporting the event as the government partner and IIT Roorkee is the institutional partner.  In addition, Genesys International Corporation is the associate sponsor of the event.
