New Book Promises to Demystify Business Cases for GIS and IT

Greg Duffy is a well known GIS and IT commentator with many years experience in the geo IT sector in Canada, United States and the Middle East. His latest book is available worldwide on Amazon and Kindle as well as on the ReturnsValuesImpacts site.

“No one really enjoys writing business cases, but with these suggestions and this nine-step model, the chore can be managed better and recommendations received well,” says Duffy. “If competing for funding is tough, best to be well equipped.“

The book is aimed at anyone involved in writing, reviewing, approving or benefitting from a properly presented GIS or any Information Technology project.

“The book’s concepts apply to all IT investments and can be adapted into any corporate template for presentation,” said Duffy. “New writers and experienced managers will add value to their own CV by learning new approaches. One key theme is to present a case as a story, not a technical paper about what is broken or needs fixing.”

“Demystifying Business Cases …” is a quick read for understanding and a tremendous desktop aid when tasked with building a case.
