The CRC for Spatial Information through its SME consortium “43pl”; EOS Space Systems and the Australian National University are proud to be core partners in the venture, to be headquartered in Canberra, with nodes Australia-wide.
“The Partnership will create opportunities for innovative geospatial companies to drive further growth in their businesses’’ said Graeme Kernich, CRCSI Acting CEO.
Minister Lundy acknowledged the role of core partner 43pl, representing over 50 geospatial companies and down-stream user companies.
The Space and Spatial Partnership will build vital links between industry, government, defence, research and education to increase productivity, improve efficiencies, grow skill capacity and ensure long-term sustainability and growth of the sector.
The Partnership builds on the outcomes of the Australian Space Research Program and facilitates the implementation of the Australian Earth Observation from Space and National Positioning Infrastructure Plans.
CRCSI Backgrounder
The CRCSI is an unincorporated joint venture set up under the Cooperative Research Centre Program of the Australian Commonwealth Government. The purpose of the CRCSI is to build critical mass in research ventures between end-users and researchers tackling clearly articulated, major challenges for the end-users using the fundamental spatial technologies of global navigation satellite systems, spatial data infrastructures, data fusion and spatial feature extraction. The CRCSI brings powerful collaboration on all critical research and education issues that involve a spatial aspect. In doing so the CRCSI seeks to accelerate the take up of spatial science in key end-users, spawning major innovation and productivity advances in the key industry sectors of Health; Defence; Energy & Utilities; Sustainable Urban Planning; and Agriculture, Natural Resources and Climate Change.
43pl Backgrounder
SME consortium 43pl represents the interests of the 60+ companies which have joined the CRCSI. New members are formally admitted annually but can access the benefits at any time during the year. Benefits include Intellectual Property for business improvement, networking, access to experts in markets and technologies, and early awareness of emerging technologies.
