Optech Aerial Cameras to be Delivered to Kenyan Survey Department

“We are extremely pleased to announce that the DRSRS of Kenya is the first African stakeholder running the new Optech CS-series digital aerial cameras,” commented David Kangogo Bowen, Managing Director of Citimax Technologies Ltd. “The DRSRS undertook a rigorous review of all digital aerial camera options currently available in the marketplace before selecting the cutting-edge solution proposed by Optech, thanks to which the Kenyan Government will pull out the best possible public benefit from its investment.”

“This is an important achievement thanks to Citimax’s collaboration,” said Julien Losseau, Optech Camera Product Manager. “We are firmly convinced that the African market has incredible opportunities for Optech technologies. We believe that this first Optech CS- series sold in Africa will open up new business opportunities in the region very soon.”

Optech CS-series aerial digital cameras—standalone or lidar-integrated—are rugged, high-precision, metric imaging systems with camera control, INS integration and image processing. Optech delivers single and multi-sensor solutions that combine visible, multispectral and thermal infrared modules in integrated payloads that can be flown in fixed-wing aircraft or helicopters.

The camera systems will be delivered in the first quarter of 2013.
