Geoimage Becomes the Only Authorised Reseller of ALOS Imagery in Australia

Wayne Middleton, CEO of Geoimage says: “We are a specialised spatial business and have strong, well established relationships with the major satellite operators. Signing this partnership with PASCO to distribute ALOS imagery in Australia is part of our long-term vision and allows us to remain true to our core purpose, that being “specialists in satellite imagery and geospatial solutions”.

In addition to supplying orthorectified ALOS 2.5m resolution multispectral imagery, Geoimage has developed significant expertise in generating detailed Digital Elevation Models (DEMS) from the stereo imagery collected by the satellite. DEMS generated from ALOS imagery provide 5m contours with a 2.5m grid, cover a 35km x 35km area with one scene and are ideal for large area projects requiring reasonably detailed topography on a budget. These DEMs, together with the 2.5m resolution orthorectified colour imagery, lend themselves to most exploration and pre- feasibility infrastructure or engineering projects, as they do not require a large budget to obtain spatial data for mapping at 1:10,000 scale or better.

Ken Miyakawa, Business Development Manager from PASCO Corporation adds: “”I am so excited that we have established a business partnership with an excellent remote sensing technology oriented firm like Geoimage. Australia is one of the most important countries we focus on in the Asia-Pacific region. Starting with this ALOS distribution business, I look forward to promoting even further cooperative relations with Geoimage.””
