The GIS effort as titled Topographic Mapping for Peace and Development in Mindanao, with much more than just a map delivered. The project included GIS layers for socioeconomic data, transportation, road netowrkks and land conditions.
JICA has been heavily involved in development project in Mindanao with ¥15.1 billion in aid assistance across 707 community development and 32 infrastructure subprojects. This new mapping effort will be instrumental in development plans that will be the focus of the Bangsamoro Development Forum in November.
