North Korea launched an Earth observation satellite aboard a long-range rocket. The Kwangmyongsong-4 satellite entered its orbit aboard a nha-3 rocket.

The launch has received rapid international criticism, alleging that the mission’s true purpose was to ttest a prohibited long-range missile.

The UN Security Council condemned the launch, calling it ‘a clear threat to international peace and security.”
