Australian based Otto Energy Ltd. reported on Wednesday that it will be commencing three-dimensional seismic data acquisition program over 9,000 square km in the south west Palawan Basin off the Philippines. The company said it will start the data gathering on 590 sq. km of its oil block. In a statement, Otto said a seismic vessel was scheduled to arrive in the survey area on 14 December. Magellan Professional has released the MobileMapper 6 GPSDifferential module for the DigiTerra Explorer 6 software application. The company says the module enables users to achieve sub-metre mapping, even where real-time corrections are not available. Surveylab’s ikeGPS range now supports data collection software for mine action created by the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD). The product’s remote capture capability allows field staff to complete data collection tasks from outside hazardous zone. It combines a GPS, a laser rangefinder and a compass.
