Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) in the US and Astronautic Technology Sdn Bhd (ATSB) in Kuala Lumpur have established a new launch window for Falcon 1 Flight 5, which will carry the Razaksat satellite to orbit. The launch window opens 13 July and extends through to 14 July. |

Razaksat Launch Delayed |
The launch was delayed last month after SpaceX identified a potential problem with the interaction between the satellite and the launch vehicle. After further analysis, SpaceX decided the implementation of a simple vibration isolation system would address this concern.
Falcon 1 is a two-stage launch vehicle. It uses liquid oxygen and kerosene for fuel. It will place the satellite, equipped with a high resolution, medium-sized aperture camera, into a near equatorial orbit.
Razaksat was designed and built by ATSB in collaboration with Satrec Initiative Ltd of South Korea. It will provide high resolution images of equatorial regions of the world that can be applied to land management, resource development and conservation, forestry and fish migration.
SpaceX's Falcon 1 launch site is located about 2500 miles southwest of Hawaii on Omelek Island. It is part of the Reagan Test Site at United States Army Kwajalein Atoll (USAKA) in the Central Pacific.
